Suggestions Please??

As you all know Rodney and I are heading to the Big Apple for our Anniversary. Now I have been before so i am really excited. Rodney on the other had has not which make me even more excited to show him everything!
Now we know we have to see all the Big things like ::
  • Empire State Building
  • Statue of Liberty (battery park)
  • Ground Zero
  • Lombardi's Pizza
  • Trump Towers
  • Macy's
  • Tiffany's
  • Times Square
  • Central Park
  • Rockafeller Center
  • NBC Studios
We have a few more things written down I cant think of at the moment. But what we are asking of you is to suggest some not so big things that would be fun to do in NYC. My mother already suggested Stardust Cafe.

Please leave your suggestions =)

Thanks

Picnic!

Yesterday Rodney and I went to the park on a picnic! We had some bread designated for this occasion. The last time we went to the park there were like 5,000 birds. So we came prepared this time.

We had gotten a subway sandwich and packed the rest of the picnic at home. we drove up to the park, parked, got a good bench in the shade and then all the sudden we look up and.....

There was this bird. Just standing right at the edge of the table. Then....
Two birds, and I will have you know we have decided not to give any bread to any bird until we finish eating, so that they do not eat us.... these geese are huge by the way.. very scary! So these two birds proceed to sit there until we finished eating.

As we were eating more and more ducks, geese, ect... started to show up. (still have thrown nothing to the birds)
And the minute we throw one piece of bread to the ground for them.....
5,000 birds appear. Some screaming for others to come from the other side of the park. At this point we were sitting on top of the picnic table (for safety =P) and there were birds surrounding the table. This little guy here stayed right by my feet the whole time. Beautiful white duck! But i think that seeing the color of this ducks tiny eye means that this big guy was just tooo close!
As we were throwing bread Rodney just seemed to have a Chip on his Shoulder.... Literally haha
This is my favorite, his wings were all messed up, like he didnt bathe and the greasy hair just stays however you put it. =( Poor guy hahaha

When we had finished feeding them we look up and over to the right we see like 5 birds take off flying into the water. We then saw a man with a leash, assuming there was a dog on the end we realize that is why they flew away. But as the other birds watched the birds fly away they all ran into the water...

and then we see that it was this tiny wiener dog haha. Half of these birds are like 3 times the size of this dog, but the dog had made all the birds retreat thus giving us an escape to the car!

We Lost! =(

Game Day!!!
we started the game off right by going to Five Guys!

We park and walk to the stadium, we were running a tad late so Rodney missed pre game =(
(and that's another Fresno State.. FIRST DOWN!!)
We had a great time, we did all the motions to all the songs ( i did more than rodney) and i believe that if Rodney had done all the school spirit hand motions we would have one the game. hahaha but after everything... we lost. There were bad Ref calls and bad QB plays. it was just not a good night for Fresno State.
But a good night for The Butlers!! We had a blast going to a game with each other. We rarely get to do things like this and it was fun!! Makes me want to go to all the rest of the games! Rodney got to hear the band and the band actually faced us during half time (previous years they faced opposite where we sat). It was a little sad because Rodney wasnt down there playing and me watching him, but it was better with him sitting with me =)

Great night, Great Hubby, Bad game! haha

And we will probably be over talking to the band for a while! But I can not wait!! I like going to the games =) Really it was only to see my man play in the band but i ended up liking the game, atmosphere, and band. I will however, miss my mother! We would always go together... the what, like 2 times we went =P Dont you worry mom i will be saying

NYC HERE COME THE BUTLERS!!!!!

That is right, we are finally taking advantage of my flight benefits and flying to New York City for out Anniversary!!!!!

I can not believe it has almost been a year since our wedding! Wow it went by so fast!

Well we just made hotel reservations and now all we have to do is make our flights. We are leaving next month!! YIKES its soooo close yet soooo far away!!!

Shift Supervisor!

I am starting on an exciting road! I have definitely made it clear to my manager at Starbucks that i want to move up in the company. I have been with Starbucks for a little over 2 years now and ever since the 6 month mark i have been asking to move up. At the time Starbucks was closing tons of stores leaving a lot of shift supervisors and baristas jobless, which meant there was no need for anyone to be promoted at the time. I have now spoken to our new store manager about moving up and he really thinks i would be great at the job.

He has mentioned my name to the new district manager and she is going to make a folder for me of things i need to complete. I would first need to complete and Learning Coach class. That allows me to be a trainer in our store. After that i can start training for shift supervisor and once i am ready and once a store needs one I would be able to move up.

This will guarantee me more hours and a tad bit more pay. Which will hopefully allow me to only work one job! Which is soooooo exciting to Rodney and I!!

If all goes well I will pass the learning coach class, the interview with the new DM, the shift lead training, and become a shift lead!

Please I would really like all of your prayers as I start this step. This would be such a blessing and a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! Back would be the days of working only one job!! =)

Where have we been???

Where have we been????
we have been working quite a bit. I'm still at Starbucks and American Eagle and Rodney is now at 5Guys Burgers! Which is delicious by the way =)
Here are a couple photos of us this summer.

Rod and i took a day trip to Pismo Beach! We had a sand castle competition and i totally kicked butt!!

For Rodney's Birthday I took him on a surprise dinner to Lucilles ( his favorite bbq place). We do not have one here in Fresno so we had to drive up north about 3 hours. Since it was such a long trip just for dinner, i decided to spend the night in sacramento. We visited old town Sacramento, drove to the Jelly belly Factory and also the Anhueser Busch Factory!

Rodney and I had a blast for his birthday staying up until 2 am playing monopoly (which i won!!)

I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband like Rodney!! =)

We had a great summer even though we worked more than we played but hopefully that all changes sooner than later!!!

until next time.....

Bass Lake!

Yesterday I took Rodney on a surprise trip! He swore up and down that we were going to Yosemite and it was really funny on his reasons why that could be the only place we are headed! =P

Not knowing what to expect we brought blankets, card games, subway, flashlight and a good time! We just hung out and played "Would you Rather", "Speed" and other games.

And at 9pm we enjoyed the firework show over the lake! =) It was such a great Fourth of July!! Sorry Evan we could not make it for your Birthday but we were thinking about you!!! =)

Camera Batteries died before fireworks, maybe Rodney will put some from his phone on here on Facebook!!

"Oh... No..."

I quote just how Phoebe Buffay from Friends says it!

Yesterday I get to work (AE) and there is a note on the board

"There was a change in the schedule, double check to see if you were written in for any shifts"

Im thinking oh great now what, so i take a look and ok next week i was written in to work Thursday, and then the next Monday i was also written in and i accept this fact. Then a few seconds pass... wait! MONDAY? JUNE 28th? ... Oh NO! that is my birthday.

I proceeded to explain to my supervisor that the only reason i asked for Mondays and Tuesdays off during this schedule is so I may have June 28th off. I told her that she could have written in me in any other day that week and to please let me have it off. It is not a morning shift, if it was i would work it because then i will be off and get to go to dinner and such to celebrate, but no the shift starts at 6pm and ends at 1030pm. =(

I then frantically text and left notes for people to see if they can cover my shift for me so i can celebrate. I love my birthday, and i am really hoping that i do not have to work!! GRR!!!

Just thought i would share my frustration with you all!!

until next time....

I'm Online

Hello All!

We have the internet back, and what you ask have the Butlers been up to?

Well.... lets see, in March we flew down to surprise my sister for her Birthday! Some time inbetween then and now, I started working inside at the Airport, working at the ticket counter and at the Gate, letting people on and off the plane. It has been an interesting change, interesting to see how clueless some people are when they are traveling just one question... how do you not know what airline you are flying on?

April... just work and more work.

May... my mother flew up to visit for a few days and we went to Yosemite and had a blast!

Somewhere between Yosemite and Memorial day Rodney and I rented Greys Anatomy Season One with Netflix and we have been pretty much addicted to that show ever since, we are now on Season 4, we just love when netflix hits the mail box so we can see what happens in the next episode!

Rodney and I went home for Memorial day! My little nephew is getting so so big!! All of us "adult" children entertained ourselves by playing with my year old nephews water toys. Looking back it seems so silly.

Now June.. not sure what we will do this month, hopfully my sister can come up for my birthday... what? YES! MY BIRTHDAY is at the end of this month, so June is going to be really exciting! I Love my birthday, i have the day off and i am just going to enjoy it! =)

Now that we have the internet back, i will try to update more often!

thats all for now! =)
